The indomitable Angela.

Have you ever been so in awe of someone that you just had to take action? Welcome to my world! ReTHRIVAL is inspired by this incredible woman I 'met' online. For nearly six years, Angela has been walking around the world (shewalkstheearth.com). In her words, "I walk as a free woman who could choose crazy-expedition over secure-job in a world where many women still can't choose their husband or receive an education. I walk with them in my thoughts."

Raising Money and Awareness

Angela's goal is to raise $20,000 and complete her walk of 20,000 miles in support of women who are enslaved. She's partnered with Her Future Coalition, a non-profit that supports high-risk girls and women around the world by providing them with education, shelter, and entrepreneurship opportunities. Their goal is to break the cycle of poverty and exploitation of women, including trafficking and gender violence.

I believe that's a cause we can all get behind!

In my mind, I'll be walking with Angela as well as the millions of women who cannot walk freely themselves. I've watched Angela's videos, and it's heartbreaking what girls as young as 12 years old are subjected to. I have a 12-year-old daughter myself, and I cannot imagine this for anyone's daughter. I hug her every day, hoping that one day every girl can feel as safe and independent and loved.

Angela and Her Future Coalition are actively working to help give girls and women opportunities they might not have otherwise. They are empowering women -- and I mean that in every sense of the word. Thanks to their efforts, thousands of women have broken free of the poverty and exploitation cycle.

Courage is a verb.

Watch Angela's TEDx Talk (University of Edinburgh) as she takes us through her journey over isolated mountains and into overpopulated cities. Angela describes a strengthened connection to herself while in solitude, and a deepened love for humanity in bonding with strangers. But a traumatic experience changed her understanding of courage forever. By sharing her pain, Angela shows us how we can tap into our own inherit courage to achieve anything we commit our hearts to. How we can venture beyond our perceived limits.
